I would like to buy a good set of chiefs knives, not the most expensive, just good usable knives.?
I am looking for professional grade knives, something you would find in a chiefs kitchen. I don't want to buy the forty dollar department store knife set, I am looking for something that you could hand down to you kids. Any idea's?
Look for the best price you can get for high carbon stainless steel with a full tang. Those are the qualities you want.

Not sure what's up with the thumbs downs but, if you want a cheap decent knife, the above are good knives
I don't have cheap knives. I have a mix of Sabatier and Henkle.

I also have a 6 inch chef, a boning,a 3 1/2 and 5 inch paring, a filet knife, a carving knife and a santoku knife. The filet, both chef knives and the carving knife are Henkel. The rest are Sabatier.
