Is it unethical for a restaurant to have a recipe from a cookbook on its menu?
Say I wanted to open a sandwich shop. Is it unethical to use other people's recipes (cookbooks or other restaurants) in helping to build my menu?
I don't think so, so long as you don't claim to be original. But many famous dishes are copied again and again, like Crepes suzette, steak tartare, coq au vin.
