Vanilla cake turned Bitter. I cannot eat it.Please tell me how to make it edible?icing or topping will help?

My Vanilla cake turned Bitter. I cannot eat it.Please tell me how to make it edible?icing or topping will help? I made it in large quantity and dont want to throw it away. Pls let me know ASAP. Many Thanks in advance
yeah, that's strange. I've never heard of it turning "bitter" unless it was bad. It brings to mind a nursery rhyme about "betty and her bitter batter" or something to that effect. 
)
Was it good in the beginning? I would think it would get stale before it was "bitter". I'd throw it away and not try to cover it up with sugar or frosting..... it might make you sick. Maybe the oil was rancid.... or someones messed with it. Either way, I don't think I'd risk it.
